Cybercrime is rapidly increasing in today’s world. According to Indian Computer Emergency Response (CERT-In), the first two months of 2022 has reported more cybercrimes than the entire 2018. India reported 2,08,456 incidents in 2018 and 2,12,485 incidents in the first two months of 2022. Majorly, the cybercrime is increasing through Internet.

What is Cyber Awareness?

Cyber Awareness involves the process of educating the internet users on cyber security best practices, cyber threats, the danger of clicking on malicious link or downloading an infected attachments, interacting online, disclosing sensitive information and so on, which they are or might face in today’s time. The hackers mostly hack the system to disclose and use the personal information of the victim (mostly youngsters) to blackmail them. Personal attacks even include threatening posts against any community or death threats or rape threats. Businesses face cyber threats in the form of hacking of business’ financial details, customers’ financial details (eg, credit card data), intellectual property (eg, trade secrets or product designs).

What is the need of Cyber Awareness?

The main motive behind cyber security awareness is to get protected and prevent breaches and future attacks. Security awareness programmes and training have successfully contributed in large numbers. Increase the confidence of the customer to develop the business. Trusted customers are important for the business to run.

                Cyber awareness protects all categories of data from theft and damage. This includes sensitive data, personally identifiable information, protected health information, personal information, intellectual property, data and governmental and industry information systems.


How Cyberbharat spread the awareness amongst the people?

Cyberbharat is aimed at enhancing people’s basic knowledge about cybercrimes and precautions to be taken for prevention. It has successfully provided free multiple cyber awareness training programmes and online classes in which people are awared of the cybercrimes and frauds everyone is facing in today’s world.          The main focus of Cyberbharat is on young girls who generally fell into the trap of cybercrime. Cyberbharat has awared approx. 5000+ girls so far.
