Iran has been in the news these days. Fresh protests broke out in Iran on 19th September over the death of Mahsa Amini who had been arrested by the country's "morality police" for not wearing a hijab (headscarf), AFP reported citing local media. The morality police enforces strict dress code in the country. 

                   A 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was arrested and beaten up by the morality police because she was not wearing hijab (headscarf) properly. The girl died in hospital on 16th September after spending three days in coma. According to Tehran Police Chief, Amini had violated the dress code but no physical assault happened by the police to Amini and that she had died because of sudden heart failure. But her family said that she was fit and healthy. There were reports that Amini's head was beaten by a baton and banged her head against one of their vehicle. After her death the protest has taken a deadliest form. In protest many women burned their hijab and Iranian women show their anger by cutting their hair and burning their hijab to protest against the killing of Mahsa Amini by hijab police.

               



On Tuesday and Wednesday some state-owned websites, including the website of the Central Bank of Iran, were targeted by hackers claiming to be from the ‘Anonymous’ hacking group and shared screenshots showing the websites of Iran’s government portal, the office of a government spokesperson, and the central bank taken down after purportedly being hacked. A member of the group posted a message to the Iranians on Twitter on Tuesday, saying, "We are here with you. The operations against Iran began. wait for us." At least two main websites of the Iranian government and some state-affiliated media webs as well as the state broadcaster IRIB were among the targets, some of whom were back on line after a few hours. One of the websites of the government hosts “smart services” and another is dedicated to publishing government news and interviews with officials.

                      Amini's funeral on 17th September sparked protest in the Western Kurdish region, where she was from, which eventually spread across country and reached the capital, Tehran. The protesters have clashed with the police and chanted against the Islamic Republic itself.
